Gilded Lilies is a series of photographs shot across London in two weeks, during a heatwave in April 2025. The work gathers friends and collaborators of Wilson – artists and meaning-makers in their fields – wearing pieces of jewellery that matter to them. It is a rumination on the objects we adorn ourselves with, and the life, death and infinities they contain. This print features Yasmin El Yassini.

About Steph Wilson

Steph Wilson (b. 1992) is a British photographer and artist working between London and Paris. Working solely with analogue photography, Wilson’s images resist idealisation in favour of physicality, humour, vulnerability and the particularities of the people she photographs.

In 2024, Wilson was awarded first prize in the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize for Sonam, from Ideal Mother, exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery, London. The work was subsequently exhibited at Kunsthalle München in 2026.
